Hi Tarifans 😉,

Well, here he is back after an excellent weekend, the famous Levante, which blew loudly for a good part of the week, wreaking havoc in our hair and the streets of Tarifa! The port even had to stop maritime traffic due to conditions considered too dangerous.

But don't worry, even with this whimsical wind, life goes on in Tarifa and the planned activities and events continue to animate the region. So, tie your hair up and get ready to enjoy all that Tarifa has to offer, whether or not Levante is blowing!

Speaking of maritime traffic, it is really worrying to learn that the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center in Tarifa (Tarifa Trafico) is in the process of being dismantled. This service plays a crucial role in the coordination of maritime emergencies in an area with a very high density of maritime traffic, and its suppression would have serious consequences for maritime safety, the protection of human life at sea and the fight against pollution in the Strait of Gibraltar.

As a mandatory crossing point for numerous vessels connecting ports in the Atlantic, Northern Europe, Northern Europe, Europe, Europe, Mediterranean, Mediterranean, Asian and Persian Gulf, Tarifa's area of responsibility is of major strategic importance. In addition, the Tarifa Coordination Center is responsible for providing the maritime traffic service in the traffic separation system in the Strait of Gibraltar, which contributes to the safety of navigation in the region.

We believe that it is essential to protect and support maritime rescue coordination services such as Tarifa Trafico, which ensure the safety and protection of human lives at sea, as well as the preservation of the marine environment.

If you are of the same opinion, it is urgent to sign the petition to defend this service and to ensure that the authorities take into account its importance and take the necessary measures to maintain its functioning.

We strongly encourage everyone concerned with this situation to take action to defend the maintenance of the Tarifa Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (Tarifa Trafico) and to support efforts to preserve this essential service for maritime safety in the region. To sign the petition

To bounce back on a lighter note, this weekend the Seville Feria starts! The “Feria de Abril” in Seville is one of the most emblematic cultural events in Andalusia in April. It is a festival full of traditions, folklore and joy, where residents of Seville and visitors come together to celebrate Andalusian culture in an authentic way.

The Feria lasts seven days, from Sunday April 23 at midnight with El Alumbrao, until Saturday April 29 after the traditional fireworks display. It takes place south of the Barrio de los Remedios, on an esplanade called Real de la Feria de Sevilla, including fifteen streets dedicated to famous bullfighters. More than 200,000 lightbulbs illuminate both Portada, the main gate of the compound, and the streets, creating a magical atmosphere.

If you want to participate in this event, we recommend that you do so from Avenida de Flora de Indias, Asunción Street and its surroundings, to fully enjoy the festive atmosphere. This year, Portada de la Feria is inspired by two iconic Sevillian monuments, the Plaza de España and the Teatro Coliseo, adding a touch of architectural beauty to this traditional festival.

The Seville April Fair is an opportunity to see traditional flamenco costumes, to hear the dances and songs typical of Seville, to enjoy the beautiful horse-drawn carriages, bull fights, “Rebujitos” (a typical drink made from sherry and soda) and “Pescaito frito” (fried fish), among other Andalusian culinary delights. It is a unique celebration where traditions, music, dance and gastronomy come together to create an unforgettable experience.

If you feel like it and the kilometers don't scare you, don't miss this celebration that will allow you to discover Andalusian culture at its best.

Good vibes only!
